The first time I heard the word “belfie” I wasn’t sure exactly what it meant. I’m only too aware of the phenomenal rise of the “selfie” or self-portrait taken with a smartphone or other mobile device. When I saw the first “belfie” posted on social media, however, its meaning became clear at once.
A “belfie” is a selfie whose centre of attention is the subject’s butt, bottom, bum or behind. Some rump-related synonym that begins with the letter “B”. I love taking my very own belfies for my daily “good morning” photo on Twitter, for a couple of very good reasons.
The obvious advantage of taking belfies is that I don’t have to worry about my hair or other features, it’s all about the butt and it doesn’t take long to get a presentable belfie. A little effort can go a long way.
